Mat Doumbe's strike gave MK Dons their sixth win in seven games and kept Wycombe in the relegation zone.

Doumbe cut inside from the right before firing into the bottom corner a minute before half-time.

The Dons continued to dominate after the break and Lewis Gobern tested Scott Shearer with a long-range shot.

Wycombe came close to an unlikely late equaliser when Stuart Green had the goal at his mercy but Willy Gueret saved with an outstretched leg.

Wycombe manager Peter Taylor told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"The second half was much better from our point of view, but the first half was very poor. I think we allowed MK Dons to pass the ball as easily as they are capable of.

"People start off nervously at times. We were playing at home against a good team. To me it has got to be the opposite of that. You look forward to it and not allow the opposition to settle."

MK Dons manager Paul Ince told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"I think in the first half was attack v defence, and that's not being disrespectful, that's how well we played.

"We took control of the game from start to finish. Our passing was great at times, but we have got to be a bit more clinical, more direct when we are in the ascendancy."
