New Norwich manager Paul Lambert watched from the stands as he saw the club's troubles continue with a defeat at Brentford.

Ryan Dickson headed in a long throw from David Hunt to put the home side ahead at Griffin Park.

Hunt turned from provider to goalscorer when he powered in a free-kick from the edge of the area.

Owain Tudur-Jones struck a stoppage-time free-kick for the visitors but it was no more than a consolation goal.

Lambert left Colchester to become Bryan Gunn's successor on Tuesday and his first official game in charge will be against Wycombe.
