Brentford substitute Marcus Bean came closest to breaking the deadlock as the Seagulls claimed a deserved point.

Bean connected with Cleveland Taylor's late cross but Albion keeper Michel Kuipers produced a fine stop.

Bees keeper Lewis Price kept out efforts from Alan Navarro and Mark Wright, while Brighton's Kevin McLeod flashed a shot just wide.

Brentford striker Myles Weston fired narrowly over before Taylor saw a low shot blocked at the near post.

Brentford manager Andy Scott told BBC London 94.9:

"It was a game of very few clear-cut chances but I was pleased with us in general.

"We had a few good chances with breakaways in the first half but couldn't capitalise and there was not too much in the second half in terms of chances.

Brighton manager Russell Slade told BBC Sussex:

"I thought we created the better opportunities. I don't think our keeper's had a save to make.

"I think we must have defended 25 long throws today and we did that very well.

"We tried to keep the tempo up, we threw players on to try and change the game but it wasn't to be."
