Cheltenham 2-0 Hartlepool

Cheltenham secured their first league win in 15 attempts against Hartlepool.

Elvis Hammond struck the first from the penalty spot with 34 minutes gone, after Michael Nelson handled a shot.

Substitute Nicholas Bignall fired in a second from the edge of the box two minutes from time to score his first goal for the club.

Hartlepool had an effort ruled out for offside after 49 minutes, while Andy Lindegaard headed a miscued David Bird clearance off the Cheltenham line.


Cheltenham: Brown, Lindegaard, Diallo, Townsend, Ridley, Low, Bird, Westlake, Spencer (Bignall 63), Connor (Watkins 86), Hammond (Gallinagh 68).
