Southend 0-1 Yeovil

Aaron Brown's early strike gave 10-man Yeovil a 1-0 victory at Southend.

The centre-back volleyed home from close-in after six minutes after Southend goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall failed to collect a free-kick.

Yeovil lost Aidan Downes to a straight red card shortly after the break for a two-footed challenge on Johnny Herd.

Southend pushed for an equaliser but Yeovil keeper Josh Wagenaar kept his side in front with several fine saves, notably denying Franck Moussa.
