Northampton 5-1 Crewe

Billy Clarke fired a hat-trick on his debut as Northampton romped to their biggest win of the season.

Clarke, signed on loan from Ipswich, netted inside two minutes by firing home at the second attempt.

Crewe's Julien Baudet was sent off for fouling Giles Coke and from the ensuing free-kick Danny Jackman made it 2-0.

Colin Daniel pulled one back but Clarke made it 3-1, Liam Davis drilled home a low shot and Clarke converted a penalty for his hat-trick after being fouled.


Northampton: Dunn, Rodgers, Hughes, Doig, Jackman, Coke, Osman, Davis (Holt 65), Clarke (Gilligan 76), Akinfenwa (Larkin 71), Constantine.
