Colchester 5-0 Carlisle

Colchester recorded an emphatic first win at their new stadium as they beat struggling Carlisle.

Colchester went ahead when David Perkins tapped in a rebound before Mark Yeates curled in a left-foot shot from the edge of the area to make it 2-0.

Yeates took advantage of a defensive mix-up to slot in Colchester's third and Dean Hammond made it 4-0 when he converted from Scott Vernon's pass.

Substitute Akanni-Sunday Wasiu slotted in a stylish fifth in stoppage time.
