Swansea captain Garry Monk lifts the League One trophy

Superb play down the right from Shaun MacDonald found fellow substitute Febian Brandy in the box to slot home the winner 12 minutes from time.

Jason Scotland, Thomas Butler and Paul Anderson were all denied earlier by Brighton keeper Michel Kuipers.

Dean Cox, Nicky Forster and Glenn Murray found Swans goalkeeper Dorus De Vries in fine form at the other end.

Despite missing out on the end of season play-offs, Brighton manager Dean Wilkins is happy with the way his side have his side have played during the campaign, particularly at Withdean.

"The biggest thing for me was to get the home form vastly improved.

"Even today, despite the defeat, we've played some quality football, but just didn't have the final finish at the end of it"
