Brian Stock's fine goal helped Doncaster beat Huddersfield and climb above their rivals in the table.
The home side took the lead when Stock hammered the ball into the roof of the net from the edge of the penalty area after a good passing move.
Huddersfield were denied a penalty after Matthew Mills had pushed Danny Cadamarteri in the back.
But Rovers sealed the win with Mark Wilson's low left-foot shot before they saw Craig Nelthorpe hit the bar.
