Ten-man Hartlepool secured a 2-1 victory over Doncaster thanks to Richie Barker's late penalty.
Hartlepool wasted several chances in the first half, but still went into the break with the lead after Godwin Antwi headed in off the crossbar.
James Hayter equalised on 71 minutes with an excellent diving header.
But Barker fired home from the penalty spot after Mark Wilson fouled James Brown, and Pools held on despite Robbie Elliot's second booking on 84 minutes.
