Cheltenham boss accuses Windass
Dean Windass
Windass admitted grabbing Finnigan, according to Ward
Cheltenham boss John Ward was angry with Bradford striker Dean Windass after Town defender John Finnigan was sent off in the Robins' 2-1 defeat.

"The fourth official has seen Windass grab John by the testicles and squeeze them. John has thrown his arm across his chest to get him off," Ward said.

"I'm aggrieved that both offences are not treated the same."

But Windass told the Telegraph & Argus: "He elbowed me in the face - it doesn't matter if he connected or not."

Finnigan will now serve a three-match suspension for the sending-off.

Dean told me it was part of the game. I disagreed

Cheltenham boss John Ward
Ward added: "Windass has fallen to the ground as if he was extremely hurt - I can't explain why he has not been booked for the initial offence, and then (again) for the simulation.

"He has got a yellow card for grabbing John by the testicles, and the fourth official has expressed that that is not a sending-off offence.

"I think that is a violent act and a very unpleasant thing which doesn't happen very often in professional football.

"I spoke to Dean and told him what I saw happen. He told me it was part of the game - I disagreed and said it wasn't."

But Windass hit back: "Their manager called me a cheat, but I can't see why.

"There was a bit of a melee and I grabbed their player. But he took the bait, and he's got himself sent off."
