Brentford put out the second-string with a play-off place already booked, and the reserves staked their claim for a call-up by beating promoted Hull.

With just two first-team regulars on show, the Bees went behind as Hull defender Leon Cort powered home a header after 35 seconds.

But Martin Allen's youngsters hit back as on-loan Jerrome Sobers glanced home Jay Tabb's cross.

Then Tabb raced clear to fire a curling shot past goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.
