Blackpool 2-1 Northampton

Blackpool fought back from a goal down to snatch a win at home to Northampton courtesy of John Murphy's late winner.

The visitors, who remain in relegation trouble, had taken a surprise lead after 33 minutes through the impressive Darryn Stamp.

Stamp gave new manager Terry Fenwick a dream start to his Sixfields reign with a clinical finish from close range.

However, the goal was against the run of play after Scott Taylor had missed a number of chances for the home side.

Richard Walker was also unlucky not to restore parity when he headed against the post just before the interval.

Blackpool's pressure finally paid off after 77 minutes when Walker converted a penalty after Richie Wellens had been fouled inside the box.

And worse was to come for the Cobblers when Murphy snatched a dramatic winner at the death following a fumble by goalkeeper Nathan Abbey.

Blackpool: Barnes, Coid, Flynn, Grayson, Hills, Evans, Southern, Wellens, Taylor, Walker, Murphy. Subs: Jaszczun, O'Kane, Dalglish, Fenton, Bullock.

Northampton: Abbey, Marsh, Reid, Hope, Carruthers, Asamoah, Harsley, Gabbiadini, McGregor, Forrester, Stamp. Subs: Sampson, Frain, Morison, Thompson, Turner.

Referee: H Webb (S Yorkshire).
