Luton were punished for defensive errors as Chesterfield came from behind for the second time in five days to win 2-1.

Ahmet Brkovic gave Luton a seventh-minute lead direct from a corner and the visitors could have had more goals in the first half, with Tony Thorpe twice going close.

But it was a different story after the break, with Glynn Hurst equalising in the 55th minute after Emmerson Boyce needlessly gave the ball away.

More poor defending allowed Chris Brandon to head a second four minutes later when he got in front of keeper Carl Emberson and defender Ian Hillier.

Luton never recovered and although they forced a string of corners late on, Hurst almost added a third in the final minute of added time.
