Blackpool 1-1 Huddersfield

A late John Hills penalty allowed play-off hopefuls Blackpool to scramble a draw against struggling Huddersfield at Bloomfield Road.

The second half was delayed for 20 minutes following a full scale ground evacuation after a small fire was discovered in a retail outlet.

Town's vital goal - only their sixth away from home this season in the league - came in the 74th minute through striker Andy Booth.

His volley crashed in off the crossbar after he took advantage of a nicely cushioned header from team-mate Danny Schofield.

Blackpool looked distinctly jaded at times, with strikers John Murphy and Richard Walker shackled by an uncompromising Terriers defence.

With goal-bound efforts few and far between, Town goalkeeper Scott Bevan did well to save with his legs when Scott Taylor was put through by Richie Wellens.

Blackpool defender Leam Richardson was sent-off in the 85th minute for his second bookable offence, but with time running out the home side levelled.

Walker was hauled down in the box by Adi Moses and substitute John Hills sent Bevan the wrong way with the resulting penalty.

Blackpool: Barnes, Richardson, Hendry, Grayson, Coid, Bullock, Wellens, Southern, Taylor, Murphy, Walker. Subs: O'Kane, Thornley, Dalglish, Hills, Collins.

Huddersfield: Bevan, Jenkins, Brown, Moses, Sharp, Thorrington, Mattis, Schofield, Ashcroft, Smith, Booth. Subs: Senior, Youds, Irons, Stead, Worthington.

Referee: T Parkes (W Midlands).
