Brentford 5-0 Blackpool

Brentford produced their best win of the season as they comprehensively beat high-flying Blackpool at Griffin Park.

The Tangerines opened the brighter and inside the first 15 minutes home goalkeeper Paul Smith made two fine saves to keep them at bay.

Brentford opened the scoring on 32 minutes when Blackpool goalkeeper Phil Barnes palmed aside a Stephen Hunt strike and Rowan Vine was first to react and fired home the rebound from eight yards.

Stephen Evans extended the Bees' lead on 37 minutes when he converted a Mark McCammon cross from close range and on the hour Ibrahim Sonko fired home from 12 yards.

Four minutes from time he scored his second and his side's fourth from close range following a free-kick on the left.

Brentford completed the rout through Evans, who scored a fantastic 30-yard effort with the last kick of the match.

Brentford: Paul Smith, Dobson, Marshall, Sonko, Somner, O'Connor, Fullarton, Evans, Hunt, McCammon, Vine.
Subs: Williams, Rowlands, Julian, Constantine, Frampton.

Blackpool: Barnes, Grayson, P Clarke, C Clarke, Hills, Bullock, Wellens, Southern, Dalglish, Murphy, Taylor.
