Oldham 4-0 Northampton
Oldham made it eight wins in 10 league games with a home victory over struggling Northampton, who crashed to their fourth successive defeat. The hosts took the lead in the 28th minute and never looked back. Darren Sheridan burst past defenders before setting up Wayne Andrews, who hit his fourth goal of the season with an angled drive. Northampton were hit again in the 61st minute and this time the damage was done by their former player Carlo Corazzin. Winger David Eyres found the Canada international virtually on the goalline and he was left with a simple tap-in. Oldham's third goal came from the penalty spot. Andrews was clumsily dragged down in the area by Richard Hope, and Eyres made no mistake from 12 yards. It just was not Northampton's night and they conceded the fourth goal in the 84th minute. Substitute Chris Killen crossed to unmarked John Eyre, who wasted no time blasting home a right-foot shot from 20 yards.
