Brentford 0-0 Plymouth
Brentford and Plymouth shared the points in a disappointing goalless draw at Griffin Park. The Bees opened the brighter, but the visitors almost broke the deadlock when a mistake by defender Scott Marshall on the halfway line left Marino Keith clear. But his left-foot effort from the edge of the box beat keeper Paul Smith and hit the right-hand upright. Rowan Vine forced a fine save from visiting keeper Luke McCormick two minutes later and after the break Argyle's David Friio headed over. Then a Steve Adams 30-yard strike was brilliantly turned aside for a corner by Smith. The best chance of the game came 13 minutes from time when Stephen Hunt for the home side let a golden opportunity slip when he woefully missed the target from eight yards. Vine was yellow-carded for a foul on Argyle defender David Worrell and in the dying moments Brentford's Stephen Evans and Argyle's David Norris were both booked for a tussle.
Brentford: Paul Smith, Dobson, Marshall, Somner, Evans, O'Connor, Hutchinson, Fullarton, Hunt, McCammon, Vine. Subs: Jay Smith, Williams, Julian, Constantine, Frampton. Plymouth: McCormick, Worrell, Wotton, Coughlan, McGlinchey, Norris, Friio, Adams, Hodges, Evans, Keith. Subs: Beresford, Stonebridge, Lopes, Sturrock, Schofield. Referee: M Thorpe (Suffolk)
