QPR 2-1 Blackpool
QPR moved to within two points of Division Two leaders Cardiff after a second-half own goal from Blackpool's Chris Clarke gifted them victory at Loftus Road.

Rangers took the lead with a 20-yard drive from Richard Langley after 18 minutes before Blackpool earned a deserved equaliser through Scott Taylor on 63 minutes.

But the visitors saw their share of the points snatched away with a bizarre own goal from Clarke three minutes later.

Clarke tried a back-pass to keeper Phil Barnes, who completely missed his kick as the ball trickled into the net.

The three points saw Rangers rise to fourth place in the table, while Blackpool remain eighth, a further five points adrift.

Terrell Forbes' superb pass in the 18th minute saw Langley cut in from the right and crack home the opener with his left foot.

Rangers might have gone further ahead when Clarke Carlisle and Danny Shittu both had headers cleared off the line.

Blackpool twice came close to an equaliser before Paul Dalglish and John Hills combined to set up Taylor.

But Barnes then turned from hero to villain, one minute saving superbly from Jerome Thomas before missing Clarke's pass the next.

QPR: Royce, Forbes, Shittu, Carlisle, Williams, Rose, Langley, Palmer, Thomas, Gallen, Furlong. Subs: Connolly, Culkin, Murphy, Oli, Thomson.

Blackpool: Barnes, Grayson, Hughes, Chris Clarke, Jaszczun, Dalglish, Wellens, Southern, Hills, Murphy, Taylor.

Referee: Phil Joslin (Newark)
