Bristol City 2-0 Swindon
Scott Murray's ninth goal of the season put Bristol City on course for a comfortable win over Swindon. The winger fired low past Bart Griemink after latching on to Tommy Doherty's precise through-ball on 12 minutes. Brian Tinnion made sure of the points with a 25-yard scorcher on 38 minutes, putting more pressure on Swindon's under-fire boss Andy King. The visitors could never match the quality of Tinnion and the pace of Murray, who had a first-half shot cleared off the line by the impressive Matt Heywood. After a bright start which saw Eric Sabin head over and have a shot saved, Swindon were rarely able to test home goalkeeper Steve Phillips. City comfortably held their lead in the second half without having to play particularly well.
