Cheltenham 2-3 Bristol City

Bristol City twice came from behind to beat Cheltenham and seal their first away points of the season.

The Division Two high-flyers made the worst possible start, conceding a goal in the opening minute when Julian Alsop stooped to head home a Tony Naylor cross.

But they hit back when Scott Murray drilled home a fierce effort from 20 yards just three minutes later.

Alsop powered home a header to regain the lead for Cheltenham on 22 minutes, and could have completed his hat-trick before half-time with another header that hit the upright.

As it was, City levelled two minutes before the interval when Danny Coles headed home a corner.

And the visitors went on to claim all three points when Lee Matthews drilled home a long-range free-kick in the 53rd minute.

Cheltenham: Book, Howarth, Mike Duff, Walker, Victory, McAuley, Yates, Finnigan, Milton, Alsop, Naylor. Subs: Brough, Brayson, Higgs, Spencer, Williams.

Bristol City: Phillips, Murray, Butler, Fortune, Coles, Woodman, Burnell, Doherty, Aaron Brown, Matthews, Peacock. Subs: Tinnion, Hulbert, Roberts, Lita, Myhill.

Referee: P Armstrong (Berkshire).
