Barnsley 1-1 Plymouth
Barnsley failed to ease the pressure on manager Steve Parkin, managing only a disappointing draw against newly-promoted Plymouth at Oakwell. The visitors levelled the scores in the 38th minute when Martin Phillips' corner was headed back towards goal by Mike Flynn to allow Blair Sturrock to turn the ball into the net from close range. Barnsley had taken the lead in the 10th minute when Bruce Dyer capitalised on goalkeeper Romain Larrieu's hesitancy to poke the ball into an empty net. Parkin will be disappointed not to have taken all three points after seeing his side waste a number of chances, most notably when Mike Sheron blazed over the crossbar from 10 yards out.
Barnsley: Marriott, Mulligan, Flynn, Curle, Gibbs, Betsy, Jones, Ward, Rankin, Sheron, Dyer. Subs: Ghent, Fallon, Lumsdon, O'Callaghan, Holt. Plymouth: Larrieu, Worrell, Coughlan, Wotton, Aljofree, Phillips, Friio, Adams, Hodges, Sturrock, Evans. Subs: Lowndes, Stonebridge, Lopes, Broad, McCormick. Referee: M Fletcher (Worcestershire).
