Oldham defender Clint Hill came back to haunt his former club as his goal helped to inflict a defeat on Tranmere at Boundary Park.

Hill claimed the 21st goal of his career with a powerful header in the 68th minute following a dangerous corner from David Eyres which caught out the Rovers' defence.

The Latics doubled their lead and made sure of the points 11 minutes later, sealing their first home win in the process.

The impressive Eyres picked out substitute Carlo Corazzin and his clever flick allowed striker Clyde Wijnhard to find the net with a screaming volley.
