Huddersfield 1-1 Crewe
Huddersfield striker Andy Booth crashed home a header to earn his side a draw, after Crewe had taken a controversial lead. The former Sheffield Wednesday forward leapt above a crowd of defenders at the far post to fire home Kenny Irons' curling free-kick after 26 minutes. The strike dragged the Terriers level after Rob Hulse had put the visitors ahead nine minutes earlier. He lobbed goalkeeper Scott Bevan but had looked to be in an offside position. The home side, however, almost wasted their hard work in the 65th minute. Dave Brammer's pinpoint pass was allowed to find striker Dean Ashton on the wing, but his cross narrowly eluded Hulse.

Crewe: Ince, Foster, Sodje, Walker, Wright, Sorvel, Brammer, Lunt, Hulse, Rix, Ashton. Subs: Bankole, Miles, Vaughn, Jack, Burton. Referee: M Pike (Cumbria)
