Brentford maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a goalless draw against Oldham Athletic at Griffin Park.

The first half was a tame affair with neither goalkeeper having to make a serious save.

But the Latics should have taken the lead six minutes after the break. Matty Appleby put Carlo Corazzin clear but with only Paul Smith to beat, his effort was saved by the goalkeeper's outstretched legs.

On the hour-mark, the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Fitz Hall was sent off for his second bookable offence.

The Bees huffed and puffed for the final half hour but could not get the vital breakthrough as the points were shared.
