Notts County striker Danny Allsop helped his side to a win over Crewe at Gresty Road with a two-goal display.

Allsop gave his side the lead in the 39th minute when he outpaced Efe Sodje before firing home Kevin Nicholson's through ball.

County grabbed a second two minutes later when Darren Caskey flicked the ball over Sodje's head and Mark Stallard blasted home from close range.

Sodje was again found wanting when the unmarked Allsop rifled in Nicholson's centre from inside the penalty area after 54 minutes.

Crewe dominated the early exchanges and Ben Rix should have done better from close range after Dean Ashton picked him out at the far post.
