Luton 2-3 Peterborough

Peterborough put their money troubles behind them as they scored an opening day win at Luton.

Barry Fry's team scored the first goal of the Nationwide League season, Francis Green volleying home after just 85 seconds.

Adam Newton headed a second goal after 31 minutes, persuading Luton boss Joe Kinnear sent on three substitutes for the second half in a desperate bid to turn around the match.

Two of the substitutes found the net, with Dean Crowe leading Luton's revival on 48 minutes.

But by the time Ahmet Brkovic scored the home side's second on 82 minutes, Andy Clarke had already made the points safe for Peterborough.
