Brentford secured a goalless draw at QPR which ensures they will be promoted if they win their last game of the season against rivals Reading.

The Bees went closest in the 66th minute when Martin Rowlands' cross from the right was turned onto the post by Mark McCammon and somehow rolled wide as striker Lloyd Owusu attempted to pounce.

QPR, who needed to win to keep their play-off hopes alive, had their moments with Matthew Rose firing a long-range effort wide, while Dominic Foley also went close with a free-kick.

Brentford threw men forward as the final whistle approached but they could not force a winner as the Rangers defence held firm.

QPR: Evans, Forbes, Shittu, Palmer, Bignot, Langley, Rose, Peacock, Thomas, Gallen, Foley. Subs: Griffiths, Murphy, Thomson, Digby, Agogo.

Brentford: Paul Smith, Dobson, Powell, Ingimarsson, Anderson, Sidwell, Paul Evans, Rowlands, Hunt, Burgess, Owusu. Subs: Gottskalksson, Boxall, McCammon, O'Connor, Theobald.

Referee: C Foy (St. Helens)
