Cambridge 1-2 Swindon
E-mail your reaction to Football Talk Bottom-placed Cambridge could not maintain their strong start at the Abbey Stadium as they fell to defeat against Swindon. After a 5-0 drubbing against Wrexham at the weekend, the hosts were out to bounce back and they began in the best possible fashion when winger Tony Scully put them ahead after 32 minutes. But Swindon always looked lively going forward and equalised after 44 minutes when Andy Gurney ran on to a Paul McAreavey free-kick to thunder home. After the break, it was the Robins who were in control. Having dominated for long spells they grabbed a deserved winner seven minutes from time when a Gurney free-kick slipped under the defensive wall and was helped into his own net by hapless defender Stevland Angus.
