Huddersfield secured three vital points in their hunt for a play-off place with a home win over Swindon.

A first-half howler from Swindon goalkeeper Bart Griemink set the hosts on their way, the Dutchman spilling Kenny Irons' 25-yard effort into his net after 21 minutes.

The Terriers doubled their lead seven minutes into the second half when Leon Knight stole in to head home Danny Schofield's cross.

Griemink went some way to making amends for his error with a flying save to keep out Irons' curling free-kick but Swindon rarely caused problems for the home side.

Huddersfield: Margetson, Evans, Gray, Clarke, Jenkins, Schofield, Holland, Irons, Thorrington, Knight, Facey. Subs: Phillip Senior, Heary, Moses, Hay, Wijnhard.

Swindon: Griemink, Gurney, Willis, Heywood, Duke, Howe, Hewlett, Robinson, Sabin, Grazioli, Invincibile. Subs: McKinney, Paul Edwards, Young, Halliday, Herring.

Referee: M Cowburn (Blackpool).
