Chesterfield twice came from a goal down to earn a point from a home draw with Northampton in Dave Rushbury's first match as permanent manager.

Northampton showed plenty of fight as they try to pull away from the relegation zone but Chesterfield hit back.

Richard Hope headed home a free-kick in the third minute but Marcus Ebdon equalised with a low shot in the 13th minute.

Jamie Forrester put Northampton back in front from close range in the 22nd minute.

But Chesterfield dangerman Jamie Burt scored their second equaliser nine minutes into the second half, nipping in between two defenders to head home an Ebdon cross.

Chesterfield went close to a winner when Glynn Hurst fired wide as Northampton looked in vain for an offside flag.
