Oldham 1-1 Tranmere

A superb strike by Cristian Colusso salvaged a point for Oldham in a hard-fought draw between two sides battling for promotion. It was Tranmere who opened the scoring in the 12th minute, Paul Rideout converting his fifth goal of the campaign. Rovers goalkeeper John Achterberg then made a couple of fine saves to deny David Eyres and Paul Murray. But Tranmere have not beaten Oldham in three meetings this season, and sure enough the diminutive Colusso equalised in the 59th minute with his first goal for the club.
Oldham: Rachubka, McNiven, Baudet, Balmer, Armstrong, Murray, Appleby, Colusso, Eyres, Reeves, Smart. Subs: Kelly, Holden, Rickers, Corazzin, Hardy. Tranmere: Achterberg, Yates, Allen, Hill, Roberts, Navarro, Mellon, Henry, Koumas, Rideout, Price. Subs: Parkinson, Murphy, Barlow, Allison, Hinds. Referee: N Barry (Scunthorpe). |
