Substitute Ian Lawson grabbed a last gasp goal to earn Bury a 2-2 draw at home to Wrexham. Hector Sam had struck in only the second minute for the visitors, skipping past two defenders before shooting low past Paddy Kenny. The Trinidadian then doubled his side's lead from the penalty spot after strike partner Michael Blackwood was hacked down by Kenny. Bury dominated the whole match and Wrexham's debutant keeper Marius Rovde made several decent saves. The Shakers pulled a goal back in the 28th minute when George Clegg struck a 25-yard free kick which was deflected into the net. It was one-way traffic in the second-half and Bury got their just rewards when Lawson nodded in Paul Reid's corner. Bury: Kenny, Unsworth, Collins, Swailes, Hill, Clegg, Forrest, Borley, Newby, Seddon, Preece. Subs: Evans, Reid, Connell, Nelson, Lawson. Wrexham: Rovde, Phillips, Carey, Lawrence, Holmes, Chalk, Ferguson, Thomas, Sam, Faulconbridge, Blackwood. Subs: Edwards, Russell, Barrett, Rogers, Moody. Referee: M Brandwood (Lichfield).
