Queens Park Rangers strengthened their promotion ambitions with a comfortable victory over 10-man Bury at Loftus Road. The visitors were forced to play a man down for the last hour after Steve Redmond was sent off for a reckless tackle on Doudou, but by then they were already behind. Rangers had opened the scoring after 18 minutes when Leroy Griffiths followed up Richard Pacquette's shot to score. Jon Newby came closest for Bury, shooting just wide after being put in by George Clegg in the 56th minute. The home side extended their lead when Doudou cleverly flicked Gavin Peacock's pass into the path of Pacquette and he smashed it into the corner for his first senior goal. Rangers saved the best for last when in the final minute Marcus Bignot hit a stunning curling shot from the left of the penalty area which nestled in the top corner.
