Northampton 0-1 Oldham
E-mail your reaction to Football Talk Northampton remain rooted to the bottom of the Division Two table after losing 1-0 to a late winner from Oldham's top scorer David Eyres at Sixfields. To compound matters for the Cobblers, their goalkeeper Keith Welch was sent off for the second time this month after handling the ball outside his area on the stroke of half-time. Until then, Northampton had enjoyed the better chances with Sam Parkin shooting straight at Latics goalkeeper Paul Rachubka before firing another good opportunity over the crossbar. Marco Gabbiadini then headed wide and even after having Welch dismissed, the hosts continued to create chances. Jamie Forrester rounded the goalkeeper but saw his shot roll along the goalline and Paul McGregor hammered an effort inches wide. The misses proved costly as Eyres grabbed his seventh goal of the season after 79 minutes to secure the points.
