Blackpool 2-2 Brighton
E-mail your reaction to Football Talk A last-gasp equaliser by Lee Collins gave Blackpool a share of the spoils at Bloomfield Road in a 2-2 draw against Brighton. Collins volleyed the ball home from 20 yards with the last kick of the game as the hosts fought back from 2-0 down. Lee Steele, booked in the early stages for dissent, opened the scoring for Brighton after 19 minutes with a right-foot shot from the edge of the penalty area. With chances few and far between at both ends, it was a case of being clinical when opportunities arose and Peter Taylor's men did just that after 38 minutes when they opened up a two-goal lead. Nathan Jones was on target as he rifled a right-foot shot into the roof of the net from the edge of the area following a left-wing cross from star striker Bobby Zamora. The hosts pulled one back after 54 minutes when Ian Hughes fired a left-foot shot into the roof of the net following a John Hills corner. Hughes had a header saved by Brighton goalkeeper Simon Royce after 75 minutes before Paul Simpson missed a penalty in the final minute. Danny Cullip fouled Wellens but Simpson's spot-kick was brilliantly saved low to his left by Royce before Collins finally forced the equaliser.
