QPR and Brighton provided little Christmas cheer at Loftus Road as the two in-form sides had to settle for a point apiece with a disappointing game at Loftus Road. With the two leading scorers in Division Two on the pitch in QPR's Andy Thomson and Brighton's Bobby Zamora, the large crowd of 16,412 would have expected some fireworks. But neither playyer had an opportunity to impress in a scrappy game. Rangers shaded the first half and Danny Shittu went close when his header from Danny Murphy's corner was well saved by on-loan Simon Royce. Brighton's Paul Watson hit the bar with a free kick early in the second half. The Albion goalkeeper was tested again after the break when Doudou forced a fine save with a 20-yard shot. Brighton had the best chance of the game after 74 minutes when Watson's corner was headed goalwards by Danny Cullip only for Karl Connolly to clear the ball off the line.
