Northampton's miserable run continued as they suffered their 17th loss of the season in a pulsating match against Colchester.

Richard Hope headed Northampton into a 36th-minute lead.

But Ian Sampson put the ball into his own net on the stroke of half-time and then miskicked a clearance to let in Graham Barrett.

Barrett extended Colchester's lead in the 66th minute before Jamie Forrester pulled a goal back for the Cobblers with 10 minutes left.
