John Thorrington grabbed a goal either side of half-time on his return from injury to earn Huddersfield victory over Peterborough. The American winger, back after an eight-game absence, opened the scoring on 34 minutes when his shot deflected off defender Simon Rea after a mazy 40-yard run. He then doubled his side's lead on 52 minutes when he converted from close range after goalkeeper Mark Tyler could only block Leon Knight's shot. Veteran midfielder Kenny Irons sealed it for Huddersfield with a brilliant curling free-kick from the edge of the area after 65 minutes. As Peterborough rallied, Andy Clarke pulled a goal back four minutes from time but it was only a consolation.
