Blackpool were left to rue a string of missed chances as Michael Cummins netted his second point-saving goal in a week to secure a draw for Port Vale. Vale struggled to keep the visitors out for much of the first half and Danny Coid deservedly broke the deadlock in the 35th minute. Mark Goodlad produced a terrific double save to deny Brett Ormerod and John Murphy, but was powerless as Coid drilled in the loose ball from eight yards. The Seasiders continued to create a steady flow of opportunities before Vale's equaliser 12 minutes from time when Cummins swept in a far post cross from Stephen Brooker. Port Vale: Goodlad, Rowland, Burton, Carragher, Ingram, McClare, Brisco, Cummins, Webber, Brooker, McPhee. Subs: Delaney, Burgess, Dodd, Burns, Painter. Blackpool: Barnes, Coid, O'Kane, Reid, Hills, Simpson, Bullock, Wellens, John Murphy, Ormerod, Marshall. Subs: Parkinson, Hughes, Pullen, Collins, MacKenzie. Referee: F Stretton (Nottingham).
