Two goals in five minutes helped battling Bury to come from behind and beat Northampton. Both sides ended the game at Gigg Lane with 10 men. The Cobblers opened the scoring after 11 minutes through Richard Hope but were rocked in the 33rd minute when Chris Hargreaves was dismissed for retaliation. Shakers goalkeeper Paddy Kenny joined Hargreaves in the dressing-room midway through the second half after bringing down substitute Sam Parkin. The dismissal seemed to wake up the home side and they levelled after 77 minutes when Ian Lawson headed home a Harpal Singh free-kick. Then four minutes later defender Danny Swailes forced home the winner from a Singh corner. It was Bury's fourth consecutive home win and a result which lifts them out of the relegation places for the first time since the beginning of September.
