QPR 1-2 Tranmere

Two goals in the last three minutes gave the fans a grandstand finish at Loftus Road but it was Tranmere who came away with all three points.

Tranmere opened the scoring after 72 minutes when Stuart Barlow flicked the ball into the path of Jason Koumas and, despite being under severe pressure from three defenders, he still managed to poke the ball past Fraser Digby and into the net.

Rangers' best two chances fell to leading scorer Andy Thomson either side of half-time.

First, after 44 minutes, Doudou found him in the box but but he shot wide from a good position.

Then, two minutes after the break, Stuart Wardley put in a low cross from the right but Thomson, at full-stretch, sent the ball inches wide.

The match seemed lost for Rangers, but the introduction of substitute Leroy Griffiths with five minutes left paid almost instant dividends.

In the 89th minute, Terrell Forbes curled in a corner, Griffiths chipped the ball goalwards and Thomson was there to head in his 13th goal of the season from point-blank range.

But celebrations were short-lived as, within a minute, Rovers were back in front.

New signing Jason Price crossed from the right and Barlow headed firmly into the corner of the net to settle the issue.

QPR: Digby, Forbes, Plummer, Palmer, Bruce, Perry, Bignot, Wardley, Connolly, Thomson, Dodou. Subs: Bull, Griffiths, Burgess, Bonnot, de Ornelas.

Tranmere: Murphy, Yates, Allen, Hill, Roberts, Price, Flynn, Henry, Koumas, Barlow, Rideout. Subs: Achterberg, Parkinson, Allison, Hume, Navarro.

Referee: P Joslin (Newark, Notts)
