Midfielder Brian Stock scored the first goal at the Fitness First Stadium as Bournemouth recorded a third successive win, beating Wrexham. Stock slammed home his second goal of the season from 12 yards in the 29th minute after Derek Holmes had dummied Warren Feeney's cross. James Hayter added a second in first-half stoppage time when he ran through the Wrexham defence before shooting past goalkeeper David Walsh for his fifth goal of the season. Defender Jason Tindall completed the scoring by volleying home a Hayter corner midway through the second-half. Craig Faulconbridge had a goal disallowed for offside four minutes later and strike partner Lee Trundle rattled Gareth Stewart's right-hand post in stoppage time as Wrexham were denied a consolation. Bournemouth: Stewart, Howe, Broadhurst, Tindall, Purches, Stock, Carl Fletcher, Elliott, Hayter, Feeney, Holmes. Subs: Eribenne, Hughes, O'Connor, Narada, Kandol. Wrexham: Walsh, Whitley, Carey, Hill, Holmes, Sam, Barrett, Chalk, Sharp, Trundle, Faulconbridge. Subs: Roberts, Morrell, Thomas, Blackwood, Rogers. Referee: C Penton (Woodindean) |
