Bury 3-0 Cardiff
Cardiff City missed a chance to move into a Second Division play-off spot as Bury cruised to a 3-0 victory which moved them off bottom spot.

Goals from Jason Jarrett, Gareth Seddon and David Borley helped ease the troubles of Andy Preece's Shakers in a shock result.

It was a night to forget for Cardiff who suffered their first defeat in eight matches.

They clearly missed injured strikers Peter Thorne and Gavin Gordon.

Cardiff, who had won their previous three away matches, were second best for most of the match against battling Bury who had been bottom since mid-September.

The biggest controversy of the night, however, surrounded the club mascots.

Bury's Robbie The Bobby and Barclay The Bluebird from Cardiff were ejected from the ground following a touch-line fight.

Bury: Kenny, Nelson, Redmond, Swailes, Unsworth, Jarrett, Forrest, Borley, Singh, Seddon, Newby. Subs: Garner, Reid, Clegg, Syros, Lawson.

Cardiff: Alexander, Weston, Prior, Gabbidon, Legg, Hamilton, Kavanagh, Boland, Earnshaw, Fortune-West, Brayson. Subs: Low, Bonner, Young, Maxwell, Collins.

Referee: G Frankland (Middlesbrough)
