Stoke maintained their promotion push with a comfortable win at Swindon.

The visitors took the lead after 26 minutes when Icelandic midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson met a cross from Peter Hoekstra.

Swindon keeper Bart Griemink could not hold Gunnarsson's header, allowing him the simplest of opportunities to poke the ball home from close range.

Swindon had their chances - most of them falling to top scorer Giuliano Grazioli - but Stoke doubled their lead through Chris Iwelumo.

The Potters wrapped up the points with a third goal from Republic of Ireland Under 21 star James O'Connor.

Swindon: Griemink, Heywood, Gurney, Ruddock, Duke, Paul Edwards, Howe, Carlisle, Hewlett, Invincible, Grazioli. Subs: McKinney, Willis, Osei-Kuffour, Steve Robinson, Sabin.

Stoke: Cutler, Clarke, Shtaniuk, Handyside, Thomas, Gudjonsson, Gunnarsson, O'Connor, Neal, Iwelumo, Hoekstra. Subs: Ward, Cooke, Goodfellow, Rowson, Henry.

Referee: P Alcock (Halstead).
