Notts County 3-4 Reading

Reading halted their run of four league games without a win with a remarkable win, but were assisted by slack defending from Notts County. The Royals were twice in front in the first 13 minutes through Andy Hughes and Jamie Cureton. And, although Danny Allsopp replied for County in between, Reading struck twice more before the break with goals from Cureton and Alex Smith. But County heads never dropped and a battling second-half display almost earned them a point. A penalty from Allsopp and a late goal from Simon Grayson had Reading hanging on, but Gary Brazil's first home league game as County's head coach ended in disappointment.
