Bury 2-1 Chesterfield

Beleaguered Bury picked up their first home win of the campaign after a dramatic second-half fightback earned them all three points against Chesterfield.

Former RAF man Gareth Seddon struck twice as the Second Division's bottom club finally found their shooting boots.

The Derbyshire side, without a win at Gigg Lane since 1946, rocked the Shakers as early as the fourth minute when Luke Beckett fired them in the lead.

Roundly booed by the home fans at the interval, it was a different story in the second half after substitute Seddon replaced on-loan Leeds winger Harpal Singh.

They deservedly levelled after 64 minutes when, after great work on the left by Jon Newby, Seddon rammed home at the near post to give Nathan Abbey no chance.

Then three minutes later Bury were in front and once again Seddon did the business.

This time the Burnley-born frontman was sent clear by Jason Jarrett to fire home a stunning 20-yard drive that went in off the post and sent the home fans delirious.

Bury: Kenny, Syros, Redmond, Nelson, Forrest, Jarrett, Stuart, Reid, Murphy, Newby, Singh. Subs: Garner, Seddon, Whiteman, O'Shaughnessy, Clegg.

Chesterfield: Abbey, Ingledow, Booty, Breckin, Payne, Edwards, Richardson, Ebdon, Beckett, Reeves, Willis. Subs: Hewitt, Williams, D'Auria, Richmond, Jones.

Referee: M Cowburn (Blackpool).
