Stoke 2-0 Bournemouth
Stoke defeated Bournemouth to register their third victory in eight days.
The Cherries were out of luck at both ends in the ninth minute as a Derek Holmes header was cleared off the line moments before an own-goal gave City the lead. Bjarni Gudjonsson whipped over a cross from the right and Shaun Maher hammered the ball high into the net as he attempted to clear. Wayne Thomas prodded in Stoke's second goal a minute after the interval and Bournemouth's misery was complete when Neil Cutler saved Warren Feeney's 71st-minute penalty.
