Stoke 2-0 Bournemouth
Stoke defeated Bournemouth to register their third victory in eight days.

The Cherries were out of luck at both ends in the ninth minute as a Derek Holmes header was cleared off the line moments before an own-goal gave City the lead.

Bjarni Gudjonsson whipped over a cross from the right and Shaun Maher hammered the ball high into the net as he attempted to clear.

Wayne Thomas prodded in Stoke's second goal a minute after the interval and Bournemouth's misery was complete when Neil Cutler saved Warren Feeney's 71st-minute penalty.

Stoke: Cutler, Thomas, Handyside, Shtaniuk, Clarke, Gudjonsson, O'Connor, Gunnarsson, Vandeurzen, Cooke, Thordarson. Subs: Ward, Hoekstra, Henry, Owen, Iwelumo.

Bournemouth: Stewart, Maher, Tindall, Howe, Purches, Ford, Carl Fletcher, Hayter, Elliott, Feeney, Holmes. Subs: Menetrier, Eribenne, Huck, Broadhurst, O'Connor.

Referee: M Clattenburg (Cramlington)
