Reading 1-1 Bury
A last-minute equaliser from substitute Ian Lawson earned Bury a draw as Reading blew their chance of moving into the top six.
The 23-year-old striker slotted the ball past Reading keeper Phil Whitehead to snatch a vital point for the struggling Shakers. Reading had taken the lead just before half-time when defender Adrian Williams set up the chance for Sammy Igoe to score his first goal of the season. Earlier Bury's Jon Newby had hit the post and Jason Jarrett saw a shot saved by Whitehead when he should have scored. Reading substitute Jamie Cureton, last season's top scorer, had two chances to make the game safe for the Royals but wasted both of them.
Reading: Whitehead, Alex Smith, Robinson, Williams, Whitbread, Igoe, Jones, Harper, Murty, Forster, Butler. Subs: Viveash, Rougier, Cureton, Ashdown, Henderson. Bury: Kenny, Swailes, Armstrong, Collins, Redmond, Billy, Reid, Jarrett, Singh, Forrest, Newby. Subs: Seddon, Murphy, Clegg, Borley, Lawson. Referee: D Crick (Worcester Park) |
