Brentford 4-1 Colchester
Brentford recorded their first win in five league outings with a comprehensive win over Colchester United at Griffin Park.
The home side made the best possible start with a goal after four minutes. Paul Evans scored from the penalty spot after Simon Clark had been adjudged to have fouled Ben Burgess. The visitors equalised after 17 minutes through Scott McLeish but Brentford regained the lead in the 34th minute when Burgess curled the ball home from 12 yards. The Bees extended their lead with two further goals from Evans and Lloyd Owusu after the interval. And when Ijah Anderson was sent off three minutes from time for his second bookable offence after contesting a penalty, McLeish blazed the ball wide from the spot.
